“From May 11 Nÿ 2076 MS/DC/SGM/DGMHED/DESMMDPE/SA, dated following your authorization allowing the NGO Fraternity Health & Weallness to carry out a medical and humanitarian mission in the department of the common Atlantic of Dékanmey and Godomey, we come through this report to inform you of how the four (04) days of activities have taken place.
The day of Saturday May 13, 2023 started in Dékanmey around 10H 45mn, the
Patient consultation continued until 7 p.m. About sixty people were
consulted today by the medical team.
Apart from some of the patients who were diabetic and hypertensive, most patients
showed all sorts of illnesses.
The doctors in turn, helped by a nurse and a nurse’s aide, made every effort to
give the advice and administer the necessary care. Medicines donated free of charge to
these patients, whose age varies between 10 and 80 years, have made it possible to relieve their health problems.
Great was the joy of the populations at the end of this day under the effective presence of the
political, administrative and religious authorities at the health center of the commune of Dékanmey.
Unlike the first day, that of Sunday May 14, 2023 began around
8:15 a.m. To facilitate access to care for everyone, the medical team moved to the
village market place ”Ahitomey”. With the installation complete, this second
day got off to a much busier start.
Thanks to the technical reorganization decided the day before, the hosts of the health service recognized
a marked improvement in the services offered to them.
In turn, they were received and treated well. The free distribution of drugs according to
the ailments diagnosed punctuated this day.
The dynamic support team also played its part to the great satisfaction of the
majority of patients aged between 20 and 80 years.
The activity then ended around 9 p.m. the expression of satisfaction being clearly visible on all
faces seen the festive note of this last day in the commune of Dékanmey from where is
originally Doctor Anatole HOUNNOU initiator of this humanitarian work.
Through the latter, the whole team received congratulations from dignitaries and authorities at various
levels.
The initiator in his words of thanks merged in thanksgiving to the lord who
allowed the realization of this work. He also called for greater collaboration
each other in order to perpetuate this action.
The first mission to raise awareness of screening, education and management of diabetes and of arterial hypertension at the same headquarters of the NGO from Monday 15 to Tuesday 16 May 2023 at Godomey-AV. The installation was completed around 8:30 a.m. on Monday, the seventy patients (70) started by being received one by one, we say a string by the medical trio supported by the help caregiver, the nurse, the pharmacy team and the patient awareness team. From diseases targeted by awareness to other common ailments in the area intertropical, the medical team had no difficulty in making the diagnoses and indicating the appropriate treatments.
The initiator of the work, Doctor Anatole HOUNNOU, did not skimp on the means to
give a special cachet to this humanitarian work which is close to his heart all the time.
For this purpose, the temporary tenants of the clinic aged between 20 and 80 were entitled to treatment
booster imported from the United States.
It should also be noted the effective presence of the politico-administrative authorities of the district in
this campaign which ended around 8 p.m.
The last round of this medical ballet started a little earlier given the enthusiasm that was already announced the day before. The crowd of patients estimated at around a hundred was already present at the scene at 6:30 a.m. minutes. At 8 a.m. start of activities which came up against a small disturbance in the row of
sick. It was then that a spontaneous security service arose which restored order. The patients
were then therefore forced to be patient to wait for their respective turn of passage.
As usual, free drugs were distributed to those consulted after diagnosis
posed and prescriptions for cases where we do not have the drugs. These latter
are then invited to religiously follow the advice given. Consultations have ended
around 8:45 p.m.
It was then that around a dinner, the whole team came together to take stock of the four
(04) days of work and thought about how to optimize the exercise the times to come.
So,
We carried out a two-day mission in Dékanmey from Saturday May 13 to Sunday May 14, 2023
During these two days
- we consulted, prescribed and advised nearly one hundred and fifty nine people (159).
- Eighty-three (83) had arterial hypertension and were put on treatment;
- Ten (10) have diabetes and are on treatment
At Godomey-AV in the municipality of Abomey-Calavi from Monday 15 to Tuesday 16 May 2023
- we consulted a population of one hundred and fifty-two people (152), including:
- Fifty-six (56) have arterial hypertension and are being treated;
- Sixteen 16 cases of diabetes were examined, advised and treated as far as possible.
